Miscellaneous Rec List

What I like/don't like: This is my place for all of the stuff that doesn't make it into a fandom specific rec list. I read in all sorts of fandoms, so expect fic from all across the board on this list. The majority of my recs will probably be slash but there will also be a fair amount of het and gen on here too. I love happy endings and I'm a sucker for romance and cliche plot devices. I don't like infidelity or threesomes, so don't expect to see anything like that here. I'll be updating this periodically.

Babylon 5

Really Sleeping in Light-Allaire Mikhail
Garibaldi/Sinclair I LOVE the Garibaldi/Sinclair pairing and there is precious little of it anywhere. Maybe back in the day there was more, but I kind of came late to the Babylon 5 party. This fic gets Garibaldi and Sinclair together and resolves their incredibly bittersweet separation in a wonderful way. I only wish there were more of this fic.

After the Manga-Kracken
Dee/Ryo This fic is loooong, and wonderful, and exactly what I was looking for after I read the manga.

30 Kisses-Moon Klutz
Shin/Yankumi I LOVE Gokusen and have sadly only found a handful of really good fics in the fandom. Moon Klutz has written almost all of them. This is a great blend of mangaverse and dramaverse and recreates that wonderful interaction between Shin, the gang and Yankumi.

Gifts-Moon Klutz
Shin/Yankumi The various yakuza clans keep bringing Shin gifts.

Pairing Pendragon/Merlin-Anonymous
Pendragon(Arthur)/Merlin. First, let me say don't let the fandom influence you. You don't have to know anything about Merlin to read, and absolutely love, this fic. It's a modern, online romance that just  happens to take place in a Merlin/pseudo-Merlin fandom. I read this and immediately thought 'my god, this would make a great movie.' In some ways it reminds me of Densha Otoko, in that you really get a feel for the major role the online community (in this case fandom) plays in bringing about this romance. Loved it!!!!

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Two Thirds, Assumptions, and Hunter's Knife-Solanyxe
Yong Ha/Jae Shin. First of all, Sungkyunkwan Scandal has become one of my all time favorite asian dramas. Not only does it center around my favorite cliche plot device (girl disguised as a boy) but it has the slashiest side pairing EVER. It's also one of those distressingly small fandoms with virtually no fic, so I devour anything I can find. These fics are wonderful! After watching the drama I was dieing for some good Yong Ha/Jae Shin fic and these were perfect. Wonderfully written and very true to the series.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

The Connor Wars-CJ
John/Cameron I don't read much in any of the Terminator fandoms, but I do occasionally look for fics that pick up where the HUGE cliffhanger left off when the show got canceled. I hit the jackpot here. The author wrote a virtual season 3 and 4 which does an amazing job of tying up loose ends. The only downside is that they are all written in script format, but in spite of this I had no problems getting sucked right in.

You've Kept Me Waiting-Mandi1
Alice/Jasper Oh yeah. I did it. I went there. I read twilight fic. Specifically, this is how Alice and Jasper get together, which I love!!!! I'm never going to be a huge Twilight fan, but this fic was so worth the read.

Dabequefe Post

I find myself coming to your blog more and more often to the point where my visits are almost daily now!

Re: Dabequefe Post

Thank you! I've actually been neglecting the blog a bit since I've been so caught up in real life and my own writing projects. I have a lot of stuff just sitting around waiting to be posted. I'll get around to it eventually :).
Very happy I found your site. Will note it and return for more info.

Hi :) Hows your may writing coming along? Hope your doing well!!
Hiyas :)

I just wanted to drop you a line and see how you were doing on your Writo de Mayo goals. I made a check-in post on Day 17 (http://nanoljers.livejournal.com/671720.html) and since I still hadn't heard from you I was a little worried.
Oh, my goodness! I totally blanked on checking in to the nano com. Actually, my writo de mayo goals have been going well. Not to say that I've managed 500 words every day, but about 90% of the time I've met my daily goal. I haven't been online much in the last couple weeks because I'm moving overseas and it's eaten up most of my free time :). Thanks for touching base though!
Ahh suddenly I'm very envious. Moving overseas -and- keeping up on your goals? Awesome :)
